PERSONAL PERFORMANCE COACHING - TO BE AND DO BETTER: The emergence of "coaching" as a practice for corporate applications is rooted in athletics and intended to foster enhanced understanding which translates to actual performance. There are a number of key ingredients for coaching to really deliver, including motivation of the individual being coached, specific targets for improvement, fit with a given coach, and duration for things to actually get better. Pilot has been in the business of providing 1:1 advice, counsel, and support for many of our major clients since our work at GE's Crotonville facility in 1985 when we provided feedback to hundreds of GE managers and executives in their Leadership Effectiveness Survey process.
